XTAR VC2 Battery Charger: Two Bays, Micro-USB, 18650 and 21700
The XTAR VC2 is a compact two-bay USB charger with an LCD that shows each cell’s voltage, charging current and the capacity going in. XTAR powers it through micro-USB and charges at 0.5A a bay, using its TC-CC-CV charging method.
0.5A is a gentle rate: slower than a fast charger, but kind to your batteries. UK stockists list it for 18350, 18500, 18650, 20700, 21700 and 26650 Li-ion cells, which makes it a sensible match for most single and dual-battery mods.

Which Batteries Does the VC2 Charge?
UK stockists list 18350, 18500, 18650, 20700, 21700 and 26650 Li-ion cells (IMR, INR, ICR and NCR). XTAR describes the VC2 as a Li-ion charger.
These cells from our range all charge in the VC2: the Vapcell K25 18650, Sinowatt 25SP 18650 and Sinowatt 30SP 18650, and the Vapcell P42A 21700.
Will not fit: Ni-MH or any other non-Li-ion battery – XTAR describes the VC2 as a Li-ion charger.
How to Use the XTAR VC2
- Plug the VC2 into a USB supply with its micro-USB lead.
- Check each battery’s wrap first: never charge a cell with a torn wrap or a dent.
- Slide the negative contact back and fit the battery, positive end to the positive terminal.
- Watch the display for voltage, current and the capacity going in.
- Take the batteries out once they’re full, and don’t leave them charging unattended.
How Long Does Charging Take?
At 0.5A, a flat 2500mAh 18650 takes roughly five hours, and a 4200mAh 21700 roughly eight and a half, plus a little extra for the final top-off. It’s slow, but gentle on the cells, so it’s ideal for overnight charging in a safe spot.

Charging Safety
Charge on a hard surface away from anything that could burn, never leave batteries charging unattended, and never carry loose cells in a pocket with keys or coins. Don’t charge or use a battery with a torn wrap or a dent. For dual-battery mods, keep cells as a pair: charge them together and replace them together.
